Questions for your Hairstylist.
I spend most of the time chatting with my clients about their boyfriends/girlfriends, husband/wife, celeb gossips and even about themselves, but that's the exact opposite of what you should be doing.
My reasoning: we are goldmine of info about your hair, figuring out your face shape, styling products and techniques and you're cheating yourself if you don't grill your hairdresser for the details while you're sitting in the chair.
It makes sense -- so here are some questions you should be asking.

Before the cut:
- Will this work with my hair type?
- Will this flatter my face shape?
- If you intend to have your hair coloured, will this colour work with my skin tone?

- Does long hair or short hair suit me better?
- How would I look in curly hair or straight hair?

During cut, perms or any other chemical jobs:
- What shampoo and conditioner do you recommend?
- Where should I buy the products from? From Salons or normal shops?
- How often should I wash my hair?
- Should I use conditioner at all? Just on my ends?
- Do I need to have treatments done and how often?
- How often do I need to come back to the salon for the next touch up/cut?
- Would there be much maintenance at home with the new hairdo?
- Is DIY colours and straightening the same as the products in the salon? Should you do it?

After the cut:
- What are some other ways that I can style with this cut? Any tricks for days when I'm feeling lazy?
- What styling products should I use?
- How much of them should I use?
- Where should I apply them (roots, ends or all over)?
- When should I apply them (right after I shower, once hair is somewhat dry)?
- What styling tools should I use?
- How should I use them? (Ask your stylist to walk you through the styling processes step-by-step.)
- Can I use hair tonic everyday even without washing my hair?

Be brave to make changes to your hair if not you will always be the same old same old person. Trust your hairstylist as they should know what is best for you.
