Getting it right for your Wedding.
To many ladies, wedding is the most important day of their life so before you or your husband-to-be go on a blind wedding shopping spree, I think this would help you get started.
Firstly I would suggest that you and fiance write down the things that both of you want. This will help short list the things you need and places that you have to go. Maybe a theme for your wedding too.
Secondly, put a budget on the wedding, this is very important as many clients of mine do not have a budget and they get confuse on how much they need to spend. Everything that you need for the wedding must have a budget i.e: Photography, flowers, banquet etc. This will help you avoid over spending on things, there will be many unseen expenses as the wedding draws closer.
Make sure you shop around for the Photography Studio, there are so many now and prices do come down if there are competition around. Try going to Bridal fairs in shopping malls or hotels, sometimes if you are lucky you might get many freebies.
The most important thing for the wedding is The Wedding Gown. You can either rent it or purchase the gown. Just make sure you know what design you want as many designers will charge you a very very high price if you leave it to them. Also make sure they come with accessories, as it will cost you a bomb buying it.
For him, I would normally suggest that he buy it of the rack as tailoring for 1 will be hard as there are not many good tailors around and if you do find 1, the price will also be very high. Hugo Boss, Zara, Armani and Paul Smith do have very nice suits and the price are not that bad.
The area where many people goes over budget is on Flowers. Imported flowers are beautiful but expensive. Just make sure you know what species of flowers you are going for and where is needed.
Banquet is another area where many exceed their budget. Make sure you have the correct no of guess. Soft drinks, corkage, rooms, decorations in the hall, entertainments etc, may sometimes come free with the package, so make sure you ask about it from the hotels or restaurants.
Of course you also need a photographer to catch all the moments during the wedding. Do ask if they will give you any free copies of photos and also will he compile all the nice photos into an album and how many rolls of photos he is taking for free as some will charge by the no of photos taken.
Lastly the Hair & makeup artist. You can either opt for the artist who comes with the Photo Studio or you can employ a hair cum makeup artist from your favorite hair salon, they might be a little more artistic and creative. You can get a trial from them and do let them know what kind of makeup you want and always remember to show the stylist all the gowns that you are going to wear on that day so that he/she can plan what to do to your hair and also what make up to suits the gowns.
Always bear in mind that things may sometime get messy on the wedding day so just try to relax and let things fall in place by itself so don't worry so much.
