Healthy Body, Healthy Mind.. Healthy hair.
This is the question I always get from my customers, what does health have to do with nice looking hair?
I assure you that when we are healthy not only our hair is nice but our skin and other parts of us will look good too. This because all the good nutrients are being absorbed by our cells and organs. Our hair is made of Protein so if our body takes in all the protein that is needed, the rest of the unused protein will go to our hair. If you notice, a pregnant lady will have very shiny and thick hair. This is caused by the extra vitamins supplements ( protein and calcium) that she is taking.
Your hair will look dull and lifeless if you are not feeling well or seriously ill. The medications that is taken by you will be absorbed by your hair and will definitely make your hair lose its shine and luster.
Health also plays an important role on your scalp too. When you are stressed your body will react differently. Normally the first sign is on your scalp, you might feel tightness or other symptoms of irritations. Most common symptoms are red patches that might developed to Eczema, dry flakes can also be Psoriasis, oiliness which you will get pimples, itchiness, hair loss and worst case, Alopecia which is little empty patches on your scalp.
All this comes down to how well you take care of your body. You have to ask yourself many questions. Are you eating right? Do you exercise regularly? If your answer is yes, then you need to see if you are stress at work or are there any other things that might make you stress. There will always be signs that your body or mind is not healthy, so be on the look out for it. Never ignore this signs.
Lastly, the use of correct hair and scalp products which will help in producing healthy hair as the scalp is actually the extensions of the skin from our face. You need to take care of the scalp like how you take care of your face. Please do consult a professional on the products that you need as they are able to give you the right diagnosis on what is best for your hair and scalp. Please never try to do any chemical works by yourself as this might damage your scalp. Just leave it to your hairstylist to do a good job for you.
Stay healthy.. stay young.
